Comments on Aequus' reaction to Dell's winglessness. He might be disgusted at an Antarean who has lost what it means to be dragonoid. He might assume the party has enslaved Dell as their pet. Plenty of room for confusion, until Dell explains everything.

Explanation: Much later, Dell figures out that Kydran thinks all Antareans are evil and deserve to die. When Kydran finds the young baby Dell, he finds it difficult not to preserve that innocence and takes Dell with him.

Some concerns were expressed that players aren't getting enough time for gameplay. Remember, however, that the outlines of the story only detail just that. Between each conversation, the player might have full control, and--especially in Part IV--could romp around the world map at their leisure. The story simply won't progress until they get back to it.
