a few typos

Ok, so this isn't exactly a bug, but I wasn't sure where else to put it. :) I noticed that "Yahoo Screenname" is misspelled on users' profile pages. While I'm at it, "screen name" should probably be two words.

Also, when something is posted or edited, the time stamp says "[posted/edited] by [user] at [date] [time]". "At" would make much more sense as "on", because the date comes before the time. If you'd prefer to use "at", switch the time and date.

That's it for now. I'll keep you updated if I see any more. ^_^

Ack! I swear I fixed the Yahoo screenname thing once already! Well, I fixed it again.

As for the "at" vs "on" thing, "at" sounds more correct to me, I guess... since it is an exact time... If I knew how to get the time to print before the date, I'd switch it, but I don't, and I'm too lazy to look it up. I'm planning on changing the whole thing to say "X days ago" soon anyway.

Thanks for the report.

For the "days ago" feature, you can use the acronym tag to abstract the complete time-stamp. For example, <acronym title="Time Stamp: Nov 12, 2002 4:12:46 AM ">5 days ago</acronym>. You'd need to add something like acronym { border-bottom: 1px dashed blue; cursor: "help"; } to the CSS.

Yes, I will nitpick about any misplaced plurals (i.e. "1 days"). Dude, just let me do some of that code. That way your time isn't wasted on trivial stuff, and I can take time expand it.

Not gonna happen, Alex.

Would asking again help?

Hehe, just kidding. Actually, I got lots of non-FoI stuff in the works. And Java doesn't excite me much. If there is ever any way I can help (DHTML, etc), please let me know.

OK, I'm gonna disappear now. At least for a few weeks. ((POOF))

Found a couple more typos for your fixing pleasure. :) Both are on the "How to use v4" node.

  • In the example for italics, the code sample says "bold".

  • In the example for a strikethrough, "striked" is not a word. Should be either "struck" or "stricken". Or, to change things up a bit, "this is a strikethrough".

That is all... for now. ;)
