Okay. I want to apologise for my lack of GOOD music writing software. XD I'm poor. XP I use freeware or demos...I'm lucky I had one that did midis. (even if it doesn't even allow you to SAVE THE FARKING FILE...) I won't be able to put it into MP3 mode for now...if at all...we'll see.

Anyway...it's arranged for brass and drums. (read: Piano part with the top as the brass and the bottom as drums. Heh heh.)

It sounds so much better when the brass and drums are in there...I'm sorry I couldn't find one that did so. Unfortunately, you'll have to live with the piano part that makes it sound like a dainty waltz instead.

The Noteworthy Composer file is on here. So if you want to read it, download (or buy...whichever...) that.

I also want to mention that it is not a full extended piece...just the theme. I shall arrange it as is necessary/commanded by you all should you decide you like it.

I hope you all enjoy it.

Hrm.... it sounds like Noteworthy didn't properly render all the notes correctly to MIDI. Either that, or you made some interesting decisions on which notes to extend into others. ::cough::

I think your intuition is on the right track: Cade is definitely a loud-percussion sort of character (make sure you review his profile, and even the first part of the outline if you're up for some reading). The dainty waltz is about as far away from his character as I can imagine, so I'll reserve judgment until you think what you've submitted is more like what you had in mind.

That said, the piece alone shows a good grasp of parallel melody and part writing, albeit more traditionally classical in its harmonic construction. There might be some places we can use ye olde timey music to add some aged flavor, but we'll get to that when we do location music tasks.

By the way, if you're looking for a good freeware MIDI tracker and aren't phased by rather simplistic interfaces, I recommend JAZZ++, which can be downloaded from http://www.jazzware.com.

Hey, braynstorm, I removed your separate submission for the NWC file and attached it to this one instead. In the future, you can add files to your submissions by clicking the "add files" button in the sidebar on the left.

This MIDI only gives silence on my system. An mp3 would be appreciated if at all possible.

There were a few "interesting" decisions that I made with the harmonies, but it was all pretty much intentional.

I read the profile. I might make some changes once I see some character sketches or read a few of his lines.

I'd be perfectly happy writing some location music. Unfortunately, as you said, my stuff is much more classical. I'm a classical musician, so my instincts in writing lean more towards that.

Yeeesh...I downloaded it and tried it...but oh dear god...I couldn't understand it for the life of me. I intend on re-writing it on Riven's computer. That way, I can get you a better quality one. ^^

Thanks for the critique.
