...what the crap? Looks like a pc gone "smart" on me...course what do you expect from microsoft products. Can you explain exactly what's wrong with that picture (besides the imminent failure notice)?

Microsoft products have nothing to do with it. It was a hardware problem. Fortunately, I rescued the data... but not without first spending $180 on a new hard drive.
(Erm, incase it wasn't clear... that's MY monitor, and MY 100GB hard drive that died this morning.)

youch! sucks! Good thing I have backups! My music stuff is on its own drive now. My OS in its own partition and general stuff like games partitioned on the same disk as the OS partition.
TEMP/computer geniuses: how much space should I give the OS? I gave it 10gb is that enough?
Its nice to be able to copy it all onto whichever drive is healthy instead of burning 10+ cds for it all. I have 100gb total storage between 2 WD drives: a 40gb and a 60gb.
BTW windowsME is already giving me blue screens, and it seems that Rundll32 loads twice or more which fails to start my programs and crashes my system. What's up with that??

My OS runs on a 3GB partition, although I install all software elsewhere. Also, I minimized my swap file, since I have 1GB of physical RAM, so virtual memory is not necessary... and yet, Windows often complains that it is running out of virtual memory... when I still have 900MB of REAL MEMORY free... ARG!
Also, why are you running ME? Win2k, man!

I suggest a 3-5 gig partition, I'm gonna hafta buy a 80-100 gig drive, my 40 is just being a pain in the ass.

I'm running ME out of necessity. I had an upgrade version of 98se and the disks I used to prove I had a version of windows went bad. I was using an old set of win3.1 disks. (LOL!) Also the guy who was going to burn me a copy of 2k didn't come through. I consider this a temporary setback. (ME really blows)

This was a delightfully funny way to start my morning. It wouldn't have been humourous if you hadn't saved it though... maybe :)

Same happened to me recently. Only the hundreds of gigs were real. Almost a billion records posted to Oracle a day. Yum! I love this high-end stuff...

Crap, the image is gone. Looks like I'll have to fix that later...
