Fate of Io
Paid Flash Project

Hiya. Alex (a_Thinker) here. My eleven-months exile from this forum hereby comes to an end, and if there is any way I can be useful after the "relaunch", well, the honor would be all mine.

In the mean time, I am wondering if one way I can be useful to the very talented members of the Fate of Io community is by offering some part-time graphics work. I'm sure some of you need a way to break into paid projects, and, believe me, a lot of people here are at least as good as them overpriced so-called "professionals". I do IT services for a large number of clients (from small local businesses to Fortune-100 / Global-1000), and I also always have some personal for-fun or for-profit Web ideas floating around in my mind, so I'm sure there's a foundation for sustainable professional relationship with the right person / people.

So, here we go, to start: a Macromedia Flash (SWF) person wanted, skill and maturity required, formal experience optional. If you've done Web graphics / animation before but not Flash, I'll still give you a shot. You don't have to be located in the United States, as long as I am able to pay you legally via a PayPal-like service. To start things off informally, please IM me (Phant019 on AIM, or AlexLibman on Yahoo), or reply here with a way I can reach you, and we'll take it from there.

~~Alex~~

For the record, while I'm not terribly annoyed by this, I don't want posts like this to become too common in our forums. It feels like spam, really. On the other hand, though, many members may be here explicitly for the purpose of showing off their skills to potential employers like this, and I don't want to prevent that.

This gives me an idea, though. Along with the big changes planned in the next few months I will be adding a system which will better connect potential employers with members who might want to hear from them, while not annoying those who don't. In the meantime, I guess I don't mind leaving this here.
