I got a job, so I'm too busy to run the site... and Dev is apparently helpless without me, so nothing gets done.

Hmmm.... helpless. I suppose that's not a bad way to put it. I'm helplessly torn between sitting back and watching prospects for progress dwindle to nothing (which is what I've been doing, by the way), or getting up on a soapbox and asserting once and for all that I'm done here ... at least for now. The last thing I want to do is sound unappreciative of how much work contributors have done thus far, and I do think FoI is a deserving idea, but the thing is .... it's like the train has slowed to a stop, and it's too massive an object to get moving again. The only thing to do is salvage some of the cargo and move on.

... ahhh, vague metaphors. Take from them what you will.

Hmm...well...what is it exactly that's holding us down right now? What's stopping this train? Is it a serious lack of something we need to keep it moving, or are we just holding back from stoking a small, but barely effective, fire? There are likely some of us here who check this site everyday wondering if there's anything new, wondering if there's something we can do to help get things moving along again, to not be completely helpless in sitting around waiting for things only others can supply.

I'm not just talking about what's in the Current Tasks section. Do we need things like music and character abilities, or do we need better organization? Or do we simply need more proactive involvement to make some decisions?

Then comes the question: is it really important we have more people than are already active to make some final decisions on some things? Really, this game belongs to those who are willing to work for it, those who are actively trying to move it along and make it happen. At least, that's what sounds right to me.

I don't blame anyone for losing interest in a slowly moving train. It's boring, uneventful, uninspiring, and there are so many other things worth paying attention to. But I'm personally interested in this train when it's moving, and I'm standing behind it ready to push if need be. Is there anyone else, or is this really destined for silence...for the time being?

What's holding us back? No one is doing anything! That is the only thing holding us back.

Personally, I'm not doing anything because I don't have time anymore. I'm still not sure why Dev is not doing anything, but I'm sure he has some reason.

What is it that "only others can supply"? If there's something that needs to be done which you are unable to do yourself, then perhaps you should work on finding someone who can do it and encouraging them to do so.

If you simply sit around and wait for things to happen, they won't happen. You might as well assume that. So, if you really want stuff to happen, it's up to you to make it happen.

I've decided to make some wallpaper for people to use. I think people need to see some eye candy which they can see everytime they turn on their computer, and maybe they'll be motivated to do something. I've decided it will be pre-rendered 3d graphics since that is what i do best. I know that we won't be using any cinematic sequences through out the game(or maybe that will change), but I decided to do it just for fun. Actually I started modeling the KO character a few years ago but my computer crashed and i lost the data...but now that I'm five times better than before(ahem) I'll try and finish this mini project with professional results.

btw what is everybody doing right now and how old have you gotten?

I'll be turning 23 late this year, and just recently worked on a game for xbox360 during my internship. Next year I will graduate university and start working professionally for either game or film.
