the last post on this forum was 2005.

We need to find a way to resurrect this. I'm currently doing a game design course at university, and although I haven't got the world of time, I don't want to see this project die never to be seen again. A lot of work has been done on this so far, A LOT of work.

For one, I'm not even sure if anyone will see this, but if you do try and get people to come post that they're still alive and around and whether they want to try and resurrect this or not.

Lets not get off this train at this stage eh? ;)

A lot of idle speculation has been done, and a bit of writing. Work? No real work has been done. We have no models, no maps, no detailed game design, and no code. We have music, sure, but that's the one part of modern game development which is not even enough work to occupy one person full-time (no offense to Dev, whose music is still quite awesome). Same goes for the story outline.

In terms of raw labor, this game is maybe around 1% done, but that's probably optimistic.

Gah, a post! It has indeed been ages.

*raises glass of orange juice* Here's to hoping for a miracle to make this project go all the way someday.

Everyone's influence is almost totally depleted o_O

Perhaps we should go on a new hiring pitch. But at this point, I think they're going to ditch ship pretty soon. I still check here now and then, hoping for a post, but my schedule is trying me down, and, in terms of gaming, there's a great limit as to what I can do. If there's anyone I can find, though, I'll point them here.

I can't help but feel there is one particular milestone we need to reach before alot of other areas can be covered. What is it, though? Game mechanics? Story?

Things like level design is pretty easy enough, puzzle design a fair bit longer and supposedly models even longer but we need to work out an (almost) linear route to get there.

Witness, friends, the true pinnacle of having no life:

SlipT5 is aware that this project is dead. Yet, he apparently still checks on it weekly, just to troll it.

Wasn't he banned from v4 a few years ago?

Yes, he has been banned several times. Bans are by IP address, though, which are often not permanent.

Just making sure I remembered the right guy.

He dissed my music. Boo on him. At least everyone else was nice enough to keep their opinion to themselves. =)

Kidding.

I'm still alive... kinda, even though I hadn't posted here in about 4 years.

IMO,the best thing to do for FoI is to move it onto a large existing web site and have it exist as part of another web site like it did back on ffinsider (anyone remember? :Q) That way the project would be sure to get a large ammount of traffic and thus new recruits.....

Just an idea....

See you again in 4 years.

That's actually pretty good! Wasn't it advertised on ffinsider but based on ff9hq or something? Anyways, ffinsider is insanely busy and would do well on there.

Or maybe, as this website exists on it's own unique language devised for it, on a server on the same language by the main guy-in-dormantry, who owns the server system itself, would that be such as great idea, though? Like, any different to just linking it as part o thier 'partnership framework' or something similar?

ff9hq became ffinsider when FFX came out IIRC.. IMO if FoI was hosted on such a site it would get A LOT of traffic.

Dunno if that ffmania dude still exists....

As I recall, just after we left ffinsider, they started displaying ads that appear DIRECTLY UNDER THE MOUSE CURSOR, wherever the mouse happens to be on the page, obscuring your view of the forums themselves. IIRC, there was no way to make the ads go away except to wait several seconds for them to disappear.

Uggghhh...

I've had a look over thier site, and it is all clean and generally ad-free. I think it is more then a possibility we can 'partnership' with them.
