Fate of Io
Activity log organization.

It would be much more informative to find a way to organize the recent activity log by specific forum/subforum and then by date/time. That way I can jump immediately to the latest in the Music forum and work from there. Since I am on staff there that will be my primary forum.

Dude, you must be psychic. I had the same "group by location" idea last night as I was falling asleep. Really!

By grouping I mean the items with the same location would always be next to each-other, and in the table they would share the same Location / Type (and User, when applicable) fields via "rowspan". Then the entries (single and grouped rows) would be sorted by the time, that is the time of the latest event in the group.

I integrated this, as I imagine it, into http://www.ProjectGraveyard.com/foi/work/Interface-Ideas.html. I hope to get some feedback on that eventually.

So, in other words, I second Aetrus' idea.

About the "recent activity" page:
-Sort them by category then by subcategory then by thread rather than by time.
-Put the new posts in the same thread in the same row.
-We really don't need to know when people modified their profile and when they registered.
-Maybe add a "new members since your last visit" area at the bottom.
-A refresh list button at the top. (I know I can use my browsers', it just makes it more... um... good).

Yes we do need the new user ting but not the edit user thing.

Also, I don't think we really need to know when things are edited...it's nice but maybe there should be an ption for it to be taken off or add to the list?

Well, I personally want to know about every change of any type that occurs on this site, including user profile edits. :P

Then you can have that information displayed for admins only. Or hidden in a corner of the screen. :-P
