Interesting! I think the top-left head sketch gets across your idea especially well; sort of a dog-dragon-hippogryph thing, which fits rather well. I like the ears, anyway, if only because I haven't really seen it before. Perhaps male Antareans do have impressive plumage, kind of like peacocks (or perhaps different castes have different displays). Neat concept.

My only (minor) gripe is that their body structure is the standard dragon proportions, just scaled down to size. As long as you're experimenting with it, maybe try some others, making limbs longer or shorter relative to one another. I can see Antareans being somewhat lanky.

I too am a fan of the top left head. It just seems to fit a pet style of character better. Not fully dog, but not dragon either. But I guess Dev is right, if we change the body - the rest pretty well has to follow as well. And one last compliment, that bottom right tail sketch is interesting. Makes me wonder if he could not have some form of magical ability and use that open / shut tail as the output. When he opens it have some form of blue glow come from it. I mean we are not trying to imitate Dragons, so they don't have to attack with a tail, and he flies... always a potential for magical tail.

Edits: Just noticed the oriental mustache... not so much a fan - but interesting.
