The server will probably be down temporarily next Monday, the 27th of October, or possibly the day after that. I am moving the server from its current location at a friend's house over to a new location in my basement. Sadly, this means that the server's uptime -- currently at 210 days -- will be returned to zero.
UPDATE: The move is complete.

Ouch, that is a good record. Any advantage to the move? Faster line? or it just has to be done?

My friend is moving to Seattle, so the advantage will be that the server will end up on the internet rather than in the trash. :P It will have a bit more bandwidth, too, actually. The new connection will be identical to the old one (same bandwidth, same ISP), but the old one was also his net connection, and he had some of his own servers on it too. The new line will be solely for our server, since my house already has a cable line which we use to browse the net.

So the server moves. Big deal things are down for a bit. I'm not angry mind you, but it running for 210 days makes me jealous. If I could get my system to stay stable for ONE day I'd be happy, but alas, it destabilizes after a few hours, and must be restarted. ("I think it's all the fire rods they keep in there...") Right so about how long will the site be down?
