  • Tyrus gets them through a gate and into a series of caves near the shore.

    • -room for development-

    • There is a short trip northward on the world map. The party can see a large black thing sitting in the ocean at the northernmost tip of the continent. Brooke becomes very concerned: the thing is sitting right in front of the tunnel entrance to the ore eumonite storage. Tyrus responds a bit differently; he becomes very angry and speeds forward to the thing in the ocean.

    • Brooke is the first to go after him. She yells that they should be cautious before just storming in with only four people. Tyrus yells back something about needing to find out who it is.

    • As the party convenes at the entrance, a maw opens up in the side of the huge black thing, which is now obviously seen to be an enormous mechanism or vehicle of some kind. A beast, very large and obviously defending the thing, comes to attack them. (boss battle)

    • Brooke is now even more concerned, because the beast used magic abilities before it was killed. She is quite sure the thing wasn't Protean, but Tyrus cuts short the confusion of the situation when the opening in the machine begins to close.

  • Tyrus makes it through, vanishing into the darkness. Brooke is close behind him. Rush leaps forward, having no room to run through and he clatters to the space beyond along with his sword. Ko, being the smallest, is still running as the gap decreases further. Seeing the chance for some heroics, and with plenty of time before the opening closes, he rolls across the ground under the descending gate. Unfortunately, he rolls a bit awkwardly and hits his head squarely on the metallic edge of the machine. He recovers and looks up just in time to see the gate closing down, only inches from his eyes. At the last split second (you know how these things go), Rush yanks him all the way inside by the hair. The gate clamps down and we no longer see our heroes.

    • The camera swings up, to a space above the gate. Embossed in the black metal is the Pylos logo, and underwritten, the word "EPSILON."
