[12:49:52] Dev joined.
[12:52:20] Stix joined.
[12:52:37] Stix: Hello!
[12:52:45] Dev: Ah! No, we're early! We can't start talking yet!
[12:52:46] Stix: Ah. There's my ..self.
[12:52:56] Stix: K. I'll wait.
[12:53:06] Dev: ::lol:: I'm kidding. <_<
[12:53:14] Dev: I've already started anyway.
[12:55:12] Stix: ..Mew? So what'd you want to discuss. I think my eyes will start bleeding if we don't finish with the ability thing..
[12:55:33] Dev: Maybe you shouldn't worry yourself about it too much, then. o_o;
[12:55:53] Stix: LOL I'm kidding. I'd really like to talk about that and maybe something else.
[12:56:18] Dev: If you had anything specific, I'm all ears. :)
[12:56:43] Stix: Uhh... Is there going to be a world map? Like, are we traveling 'overland' and such? or are there places... y'know, in between main locations you have to overcome.
[12:56:55] Stix: LIke in between "Town A" and "Town B", is there "something Something Plains" between them?
[12:57:04] Dev: Yes, no, and yes.
[12:57:21] Stix: Ah. Okay.
[12:57:23] Stix: That's kewl.
[12:57:40] Dev: The world map is here[/link.] (Shift-click!!)
[12:57:52] Dev: ....... I curse you, period!!!
[12:58:30] Dev: Well it still closed the link. How caring.
[12:58:39] Stix: Nice map.
[12:59:23] Dev: So, yeah, there'll be lots of travelling between places, but we don't plan to have a separate "overland" map mode like FF games.
[12:59:51] Stix: Okies.
[13:00:00] Stix: I don't mean to compare, but it's kind of like "Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits"..
[13:00:10] Stix: With y'know... Kharg's village and little places in between.
[13:00:18] Dev: Haven't played. :\
[13:00:25] Stix: It's not that hard. I understand it.
[13:02:00] Dev: I figure some of our puzzles will simply be placed as challenges in travelling from spot to spot.
[13:02:27] Stix: *nods* But how many puzzles can we possibly come up with? LOL
[13:02:41] Stix: And how many of those will be designed NOT to drive our players mad..LOL
[13:02:53] Stix: Will the puzzles be random so there won't be any annoying walk throughs?
[13:02:55] Dev: 56, according to the new summary I put up.
[13:03:08] Stix: Hmm.
[13:03:13] Stix: Okay.
[13:03:18] Dev: I don't see how we could create scripted puzzle sequences randomly.
[13:03:30] Dev: Not easily, anyway.
[13:04:00] Stix: Yeah..true.. unless "Chapter 1 puzzles - Easy" and Chapter 2 are harder, more quirks.. and Chapter 5 puzzles are harder.. since our people will have more things to do but you have to find the *right* thing etc etc.
[13:04:35] Stix: ..But..yeah. I'm a little crazy..
[13:04:40] Dev: I'm not sure the difficulty will rise linearly like that ... for most of the game, challenges will just be different since you'll be given a different combination of characters to work with.
[13:04:57] Stix: *nods*
[13:05:04] Dev: But, yeah, the toughest encounters happen at the end.
[13:05:24] Stix: *nods* 'Course they do.
[13:05:44] Stix: *liking her Antareans.. gonna keep drawing 'em...*
[13:05:49] Dev: Yay.
[13:06:24] Stix: I'll start putting up better ones when I start getting really good at them. Is there anything special about locations..
[13:06:42] Stix: I mean, depending on who lives there... are we visiting Antarean villages and other things etc?
[13:07:07] Dev: We're visiting every dot on that map.
[13:07:25] Stix: Mmkies.
[13:07:40] Stix: Town maps, yay!
[13:07:49] Stix: It's going to be a you-know-what to keep up with this during school, you realize..lol.
[13:07:55] Dev: The player's time in Antares is pretty structured, though, since it all takes place during battle.
[13:08:00] Stix: But yeah, I'd like to take on some of the responsibilites since I'm among the few still active..
[13:08:13] Stix: mm..
[13:09:49] Stix: Is that pretty much the same in all locations?
[13:10:03] Dev: The battle thing?
[13:10:29] Stix: Yes... when you visit each location, it's all structured and you basically have no control?
[13:10:39] Stix: No thing such as walking around..
[13:10:42] Stix: ?
[13:10:52] Dev: Oh, no. I mean, even in Antares you'll have choices.
[13:11:08] Stix: *nodnod*
[13:11:29] Dev: The towns will probably be open... but I'm just saying even though Antares is a huge aerial kingdom, it'll play out like a dungeon in the traditional sense.
[13:11:48] Stix: *nods* Ooh...Aerial... *grabs her sketchbook*
[13:12:10] Dev: Not floating... just really spikey mountains.
[13:12:25] Stix: *nods* I like that. I drew something like that once. Lost it.. but it wasn't that good anyway.
[13:13:44] Dev: Oh man ... I'm having a garbage emergency, brb...
[13:13:46] Dev went away.
[13:15:26] Stix: Alrightie.
[13:15:37] Stix: Y'know... I think these tails should be rather prehensile..
[13:15:43] Dev returned.
[13:16:06] Dev: ...yeah?
[13:16:57] Stix: Not..really.. but I mean... Antareans only have two hands... Maybe their tail can just help them climb and move around if they don't feel like flying to someplace that's only five feet down..
[13:17:01] Stix: Or twenty or something.
[13:17:35] Stix: Anyway, nevermind.
[13:17:42] Stix: We can discuss abilities again if you'd like.
[13:18:31] Dev: Well ... Temp had the idea to limit each PC to two main abilities.
[13:18:40] Dev: Dell's would be flying and eumonetics, for example.
[13:18:48] Stix: Hai.
[13:18:52] Stix: (yes)
[13:18:58] Dev: (Aw, crap, my mouse just died.)
[13:19:09] Stix: Well, jesus! You got issues! That sucks.
[13:19:11] Stix: Got another one?
[13:19:21] Dev: Oh, I just need to recharge its batteries.
[13:19:50] Dev: ::plops in old ones and hopes they last long enough::
[13:20:04] Dev: Lemme see if I can find that outline I made...
[13:21:01] Dev: Oo... I can just copy/paste thise.
[13:21:03] Dev: This, even.
[13:21:34] Dev: Ready to get flooded with info that we can then pick apart/criticize/frolic upon?
[13:22:04] Stix: Sure..I guess.
[13:22:12] Dev: For Syne:
[13:22:15] Dev: Obstruction Syne can block moving objects. As this ability improves, it includes larger and larger objects, and an increasing percentage of melee and ranged attacks directed through the space he occupies.
[13:22:21] Dev: Engineering Syne can create, alter, and operate heavy machinery. As this ability improves, it includes more complex machines and allows for the creation of powerful aids in combat and exploration.
[13:22:29] Dev: Coordination (passive) Whenever Syne is selected as part of a group, he will automatically direct other group member’s actions optimally. Players may also use Syne to perform preset ability sequences.
[13:22:39] Dev: For Delloran:
[13:22:46] Dev: Mobility Delloran can access locations other characters can’t. As this ability improves, it allows Delloran’s flying to include special attacks on enemies and objects.
[13:22:52] Dev: Eumonetics Delloran can perform air-water eumonetic techniques, dealing with healing and supporting other characters.
[13:22:57] Dev: For Enna:
[13:23:03] Dev: Bowcraft Enna can use her bow to attack enemies and objects at range. As this ability improves, its range increases, as well as offering access to special attacks and arrow abilities.
[13:23:09] Dev: Demolition Enna can craft and deploy explosives. As this ability improves, the variety of explosives available increases to include timed and triggered bombs (mines).
[13:23:14] Dev: For Cade:
[13:23:21] Dev: Onslaught Cade can use his melee attack to do incredible amounts of damage to an enemy or object. As this ability improves, its damage and chance to hit increases.
