Enna and Cade catch up with Dell, who tells them what's going on with Miriel, Hyde, and some shipment. Enna recalls hearing about that. Dantalian enters the square, having overheard, and says they should come with him to watch. Seeing him, Enna asks how Rheya is doing. Cade just wants to leave. Dantalian, motioning for them to follow him, ignores Cade's question but diplomatically matches Enna's concern for Rheya; she is still unconscious but should fully recover in a day or two.
-
The four of them arrive at a small control station crammed full of TW displays and controls. Miriel and Hyde are watching what appears to be a black speck travelling on the sea.
-
Dell asks about what's happening, and Dantalian grins proudly. He explains that they are witnessing a breakthrough in Pylos' abilities. With this shipment, they will be able to benefit society in unfathomable ways. Dantalian has only the most philanthropic ideas in mind, not to mention a luxurious profit margin. He calls Pylos' plans visionary, and that this shipment, brought by the harbinger of a new era, represents all that they have worked for. (*Dantalian has no clue what he's talking about. He's just repeating the same sort of idealism that Kydran has told him since day one.)
-
Reading a display, Hyde bluntly reports that the harbinger of a new era has just broken course and is now heading north. Enna smirks.
-
Dantalian says that someone needs to go out there and figure out what's wrong. He turns to Enna. After a moment, she uncontrollably laughs in his face. Dantalian points out that Pylos has been very forgiving, bringing them down from Mount Nimbus, and not retaliating for the destruction of the mining facilities. Enna doesn't think any of that matters; this isn't her problem. Cade, for once, agrees with her.
-
With a frown, Dantalian says that Enna's response is regrettable and nods to Hyde. He mumbles an apology and abruptly flogs Cade, knocking him out (again). Dell defensively flaps into the air, but Enna holds him back, knowing there is nothing they can realistically do in this situation. Dantalian explains that they can't have terrorists running loose while most of the lab's population takes action after the renegade Epsilon. Enna replies, "so much for amends."
-
-
The three are led to a cell and confined there. Through the tiny window, Dell can make out many Pylos eumoneticists running toward the other end of the labs. Enna attempts to rouse Cade and is finally successful (Cade is quite indignant at again being caught off guard by Hyde).
-
In the meantime, Dell believes he has found a possible way out: there is an air duct near the ceiling he can reach, but he'll need some way of removing the cover. Enna lends the Antarean the hammer-pick that Syne had given her and he is able to crawl into the ducts.
-
After a short maze-like sequence of ducts, Dell gets free and begins searching around for keys to the cell. He must sneak around some remaining guards (or else face them alone) until he finally locates the keys.
-
Returning with them, Dell releases Enna and Cade. He returns the hammer-pick to Enna.
-
-
The three escapees come across a pair of delinquent eumoneticists and are able to hide around the corner to eavesdrop. Apparently the two worried workers have missed both boats following Epsilon, which is reportedly heading to Serribis. One of them tells the other that she has top secret security clearance to one of the wind laboratories; "we can get there that way." After exchanging glances, Enna, Cade, and Dell silently follow.
-
They come to the entrance of the high-security wind labs which is protected by a series of Eumotech traps and locks (puzzles). Once having made it through a series of these, they descend to the labs.
-
We see the two late eumoneticists power up a large machine in the middle of the lab. One asks if the other is sure it will safely deliver them to the military barracks in Serribis. Before the second has a chance to do any reassuring, the lights in the room go out. There is some shuffling in the dark, a few thrown fists, and when the lights come back up, we see Cade and Enna adjusting into their new uniforms. Cade then assists Dell in getting the machine running again, and Enna holds out a backpack for Dell to hide in. The Antarean seems very hesitant to be stuck in such a confined space, but knows they're probably about to be zapped into the middle of a lot of potentially hostile forces and can't risk being found out.
-
With Dell safe in Enna's backpack, the three step into the whirring white light of the Eumotech machine.
-
-
-
We see a large-scale water chase as Epsilon is flanked by the two Eumotech ships. Pylos forces on the docks of Serribis have prepared boarding parties and watch as the fleet comes around to the wide mouth of the Pylos River.
-
In the corner of a nearby military staging area, a quick green flash leaves Enna and Cade standing, looking very disoriented. Before Cade can start whining, the two are spotted by a passing group of eumoneticists. Enna tries to make up some excuse (player's option, probably), but to no avail. They are assigned to the "first wave" and whisked away onto a military flyer (similar to the Pylos flyer we've seen, but with more room inside). They are also bewildered to find that Hyde is on board and apparently in charge. Cade has quite a time repressing his homicidal urges right there, quietly asking Enna what they should do; she thinks they're safest just playing along for now, and admits that she is very curious about this new large Pylos machine (perhaps she's getting pyromaniacal thoughts already).
-
The flyer takes off, meandering through the air over Serribis until it lands on the large top of Pylos Epsilon.
-
-
Once the team of about twelve eumoneticists (or "eumoneticists" in the case of Enna and Cade) empties onto the deck, Hyde uses a TW key to open one of the top hatches and orders the others follow him down into Epsilon.
-
The party passes a slain Pylos technician who had a Eumotech weapon out. Hyde notes that it appears the weapon has discharged recently. He says they need to make sure the main cargo hold is secure first thing.
-
Hyde leads the party, and they find two people guarding the entrance to the cargo hold, but they are not Pylos workers: it is Brooke and Rush. Beyond them is an enormous chamber glowing with an eerie light. The two draw their weapons and demand that the arriving party identify themselves. Hyde is in no mood to talk, and counters with a demand to let them into the hold, else "I'll hafta do what I don't wanna." Rush and Brooke don't budge, and right as the battle between the two parties begins, Enna and Cade whip out their weapons, ripping off the eumonetic visors they had been hiding under, and Dell pops out of his hiding spot. They help the startled Brooke and Rush fend off the eumoneticists until only Hyde remains.
-
Right as just about everyone is going to ask some sort of question, Tyrus emerges from the cargo hold's entrance. His eyes seem darker, and he stares right at Hyde. He asks who wants "my" ore, and grabs the much larger Pylos worker by his neck and lifts him nearly to the compartment's ceiling. The surprised Hyde explains that this is Pylos' property and that the ore belongs to Kydran. This appears to set something off in Tyrus, and he lets Hyde drop to the floor. (*Tyrus, being the counterpart Protean general in the Battle of Tarikun, knows Kydran's name well. Now, on top of creating a "perfect world" as he sees it, he can find an opportunity for revenge against his old nemesis.)
-
Tyrus suddenly begins speaking and performs a eumonetic technique (Proteans should not be able to do this since they don't know anything about the Antarean language). Everyone is blasted backward on their feet, including Rush and Brooke. Tyrus announces that they will all be forgotten and obsolete, except for Dell. He brings the helpless Antarean forward, and makes a remark to the effect of "my, don't you look familiar?" Tyrus then performs another technique, summoning a swarm of purely eumonetic minion monsters in front of himself and Dell, which chases after everyone else. Hyde breaks for it, leaving the others in the dust.
-
Enna and Cade, quickly realizing any attempt to save Dell will lead very efficiently to death, run after Hyde, trying to make their way back to the top of the ship and fight scary monsters at the same time. They finally get to a hatch and pop it open.
-
Brooke and Rush take a different route away from the cargo hold with a solid mass of bad-guy blocking the way behind them. Brooke is astonished; she had no idea Tyrus was ever able to do that, or that he was going to. Rush tells her (as he beheads a monster) that the balance of power has changed and he can no longer stay on Tyrus' side, following his duty as a Protector. He also heard Hyde talk about Kydran, and believes if the Antarean is around, he may know what is going on. Brooke doesn't like the idea of abandoning a mentor, or seeking out an infamous Antarean general for help, but she understands Rush's reasoning, and really doesn't have any other choice at this point. Besides, there are boats all over the place that could pick them up. However, she is worried about Ko, who has been piloting the ship, and--because of the monsters--they won't be able to go back to get him right away. They open a hatch to the surface.
-
-
Enna and Cade emerge onto the deck in time to see Hyde lifting off in the flyer. Cade rushes and just barely makes it onto the craft's lowest rung. As he dangles from the ascending flyer, the ocean quickly begins to swallow Epsilon from out under Enna, Rush, and Brooke. Rush tells Brooke that she must follow the flying machine and find out what's going on. Between the two floundering in the water and the flyer disappearing into the clouds, Brooke ignores the conflict within herself and trusts Rush's decision: she morphs into a bird and flies after the escaped ship.
-
-
Inside Epsilon, we see Dell wounded in a corner, leaning up against a bulkhead. He looks up, frightened. In the close foreground, a hand is proudly placed on a much shorter shoulder. As the angle changes, we see a smug Tyrus looming in the darkness, while beside him stands Ko, staring at the Antarean, terrified and enraged. (*Smart players may already realize this, but Ko recognizes Dell as the Antarean who killed his mother. In reality, this of course was not Dell, but Tyrus who had assumed Dell's form).
-
Meanwhile, Cade has made it aboard the flyer and scrambles to confront Hyde. As he enters the piloting compartment (and before he has a chance to start mouthing off), both he and Hyde notice a large bird following Cade's route into the craft. They turn and see it inside, approaching them, when it transforms magically into Brooke.
-
She wastes no time, being worried about her friend, and having identified Hyde as the one controlling the ship, starts to plead with him to go back and rescue "them" from the ocean. Before anyone has much of a chance to do anything, the flyer is rocked by a shock wave. Outside, Epsilon is sending out enormous bursts of fire energy, some of it striking and crippling the Eumotech ships. Seeing this, Hyde says there's no way he's going to turn back now.
-
Provoked (and not to mention being in the presence of a very pretty girl; one that can turn into a bird, no less!), Cade whips out his armblade and calls Hyde a single-minded coward. While this apparently has an effect on Hyde, the Pylos worker reminds Cade that if he's hurt or killed, the flyer will plunge into the ocean, leaving them all in the same situation as the two they left behind.
-
Getting the feeling that she shouldn't push her luck, Brooke gently pulls Cade away (and he sure doesn't mind being pulled by her) and pleads with Hyde to at least let them off where they can get their own boat. This reminds Cade: the Eastern Wake is still moored at the docks. He offers to help Brooke look for her lost companion as he goes to find Enna. Hyde grudgingly agrees, and lowers the flyer down to its landing platform in the military base.

Enna is drifting, face up in the freezing ocean water, amidst burnt debris of the Pylos ships. Her thoughts flash across the screen, and she suddenly considers the prospect of drowning. She then enters into a string of seemingly random thoughts: whether she locked the door to her inn, where her sister ended up, why the ferries to Titan City don't run on weekends, if the saltwater will permanently damage her crossbow ... if Syne ever loved her. She loses consciousness.
